ELLIS ISLAND/STATUE OF LIBERTY – Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Price $110.00 pp. Cost includes bus, tickets, dinner, and tips. A day to look back
at those who came to our country and stopped at Ellis Island to be processed. They
crossed the Atlantic Ocean for almost a month, until they reached the New York
Harbor, seeing The Statue of Liberty the symbol of freedom. After a day or days
of experiencing the processing system, (examinations by various doctors) some
were held in the island hospital if there were any indications of sickness. Some of
them were held for weeks and some for months, until doctors were able to clear
them of any illnesses; and some went on to board buses going either to family in
N.Y., N.J., or Pa. You will have the opportunity of looking up your ancestors and
viewing many photos and seeing many exhibits and much more. After touring both
islands, we will have dinner on our way home at Buona Petitto Restaurant.
Selling date: Monday, July 11, 2022 @ 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Lunch or snack is
on you. Upon departure from the islands, we will stop in Bayonne NJ for dinner
served family style. Menu Starts With: a Mixed Greens Salad, Choose – Cold
Antipasto or Fried Calamari, Choose – Penne Marinara or Penne Vodka, Main
Course: Choose – Chicken Parm. or Shrimp Scampi. Dinner will be served with
Rice and Veggies. Dessert (Mini Italian Pastries) Coffee, Tea, and Fountain Soda
